About
Hi I’m Lori Harris and this is my story.
(Yes, yes I know this site is bare. But I'm working on launches for clients right now. You know the story - cobblers children and their shoes.)
I made my money and gained my experience in consulting and software sales. Financial software consulting and telecom software sales.
From 2004 – 2008 I had an on-line business in the consumer loan industry. Well unless you have been in a coma, you know that 2009 wasn’t the year to be in consumer loans. Very disappointing as the income from that business allowed me to train for Ironman triathlons and be active in my community.
I was “coaching” three women to do their first triathlon when I decided to write a book “How to do your first triathlon”. Using the on-line marketing and search engine skills I acquired with my loan business, I sold my book. Not long after that I did the same thing for a landscaper “Growing your garden during a drought”.
My next project was a bit more ambitious – a membership site for a Sports Nutritionist. I began to see that I was onto something. In my circle of influence were many experts. These experts had knowledge that the general public very much wanted. Often the expert has no idea that their knowledge is wanted by the general public, much less that people would pay for the knowledge. But they will.
While researching the viability of my business, I met a guy who made $12,000 selling an e-book “How to make a potato gun”. Is your expertise more in demand than potato gun making?
Being a Georgia Tech engineer and long time consultant, I wanted a methodology. I found what I was looking for in Steve Manning’s “How to write a book in 14 days” and Jeff Walker’s “Product Launch Formula”. No need to reinvent the wheel, folks.
So here is what we are going to do together:
- Find your area of expertise,
- Where in your body of knowledge is the “low hanging fruit” ( landscape designer – garden in drought),
- Package into sale-able product,
- Launch using the “Product Launch Formula” (think of how to launch a blockbuster movie),
- Continue to sell in perpetuity
Obviously I’ve over-simplified and haven’t told you everything; after all I haven’t lost all my consulting skills,
but that’s it in a nutshell.
